Chef Lucio Sforza hails from Orvieto in Umbria. He opened L'Asino d'Oro in Monti in February 2011 (previously he ran restaurants of the same name in Orvieto and in Montesacro). The menu draws from the ingredients and traditions of Sforza's native Umbria and the adjacent area of northern Lazio. The €12 lunch menu is a steal (available Tuesday to Friday) and the a la carte menu at dinner is reasonably priced. There is a sort of happy hour from 5:30-7:30pm in which small plates of food are served for €3 each.
